Assalamualaikum beauties!!
Shaum sunna is a means of approach to Allah swt. There are several shaum sunna of the Prophet exemplified as follows: Monday-Thursday shaum, shaum six days in Shawwal, Muharram 9-10 shaum, shaum Daud, shaum the month of Sha'ban, shaum three days every month of Hijra and shaum Arafat. Arafat fasting is sunnah on the ninth day of Dhu al-Hijjah. Called Arafah Fasting as pilgrims are doing the culmination of the Hajj, Wukuf at Arafat.
Many tablets benefits of fasting!
When someone shaum, of course dietary changes compared to normal days. The result is a lot of changes occur in the body, ranging from the digestive system to the brain. A study by the National Institute on Aging indicates that the reduction in food interval may protect the brain from diseases, such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Researchers explained that dietary restriction can stimulate the production of new neurons from stem cells (neurogenesis) and can enhance synaptic plasticity that can improve the brain's ability to fight aging and restore injured advanced functions.
Therefore, increasing the time interval between meals like when we shaum can be beneficial to the brain, even when the amount of food increased and there was no reduction in caloric intake.
On the other hand, low blood sugar levels during shaum can lock the brain into a deep sleep stages. Shaum improve the quality and depth of sleep intensify. This will be good for the body and brain repair processes occur during sleep.
MashaAllah!
